But why not start with the latest NASA September 2016/December 2018 joke? An asteroid visit! It is a small part of the big hoax. JAXA is doing the same, fake thing, i.e. space craft takes off from Earth and starts orbiting the Sun. After a certain time in orbit the spacecraft encounters planet Earth again for a fake Earth Gravity Assist swing-by to modify the initial orbit. The modified orbit then brings the spacecraft in the vicinity of an asteroid in another orbit around the Sun and then you brake and ... magic ... your spacecraft is in the same orbit as the asteroid. Nobody at NASA/JAXA can really explain anything and will never reply if you contact them.

The Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, Security-Regolith Explorer OSIRIS-REx is a NASA un-manned spacecraft remotely controlled by experts on Earth. They cannot explains how they do it! Except that they do it.

It is named after Osiris that was the first Egyptian pharaoh (right) 5 400 years ago, usually identified as the god of the afterlife, the underworld and the dead, but more appropriately as the god of transition, resurrection, and regeneration. He was classically depicted as a green-skinned man with a pharaoh's beard, partially mummy-wrapped at the legs, wearing a distinctive crown with two large ostrich feathers at either side, and holding a symbolic crook and flail.


Osiris was one of four children born from the womb of the sky-goddess, Nut and fathered by Ra, the sun god. Osiris took Isis as his wife, and they became the first rulers of Egypt.

Regolith is a layer of loose, heterogeneous superficial material covering solid rock.

It is a 100% fake news hoax! Quite funny. OSIRIS-REx. What a name!

OSIRIS-REx spacecraft - LOL!

It is, we are told, a strange spacecraft (left) with two large ostrich feathers like solar panels at the top side and a crook and a flail at the bottom - a Touch-And-Go Sample Acquisition Mechanism, TAGSAM, an elegantly simple sampler head with an articulated arm - to pick up regolith on an asteroid. It is just now not travelling to a near-Earth asteroid, called Bennu (formerly 1999 RQ36), to bring at least a 2.1 ounce sample back to Earth for study.

The orbit of Bennu is intrinsically dynamically unstable, which means it is very difficult to find the asteroid. Bennu has a mean diameter of approximately 492 m, i.e. very small. Maybe it doesn't even exist? It is invented to be a stage prop! Bennu orbits the Sun in 437 days at an average speed of 28.000 m/s compared with Earth's orbital speed 29 900 m/s during 365 days. Note that Earth turns around the Sun at about 1°/day, while Bennu is slower 0.835°/day. The difference is 0.165°/day. You can see the positions of Earth and Bennu in NASA figures below.

Note that both Bennu and Earth are about 150 000 000 kilometres from the Sun.

September 8, 2016, the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft took off from Earth as follows:

Burning a combination of refined kerosene called RP-1 and liquid oxygen and carrying a single solid-fuelled booster with the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft on top, the first stage of the United Launch Alliance Atlas V 411 pushed the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft through the dense lower layers of the atmosphere, then the Centaur upper, second stage took over, propelling OSIRIS-REx faster and higher. About 55 minutes after launch, the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft separated from the liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen fuelled second stage rocket to fly free, ...

we are told. 55 minutes? There was only 19 minutes of fuel aboard in the rocket!

Atlas rockets have evolved over four decades to become a highly reliable launch vehicle. The Atlas V booster family now provides a variety of vehicles capable of launching a wide range of spacecraft and satellites, we are told. This was the 65th time the rocket was used

The first stage Atlas V Russian built rocket engine burnt during 253 seconds, i.e. less than five minutes using about 284 tons of fuel to deliver the about 25 tons second stage and the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft at an unknown altitude - say 100 kilometres - and velocity - say 3 000 m/s. After that the first, empty stage slowed down and dropped back on Earth and burnt up in the atmosphere. Russian built rocket engines need plenty fuel/force to get off Earth.

The second stage - the Centaur booster - rocket engine burnt during 842 seconds, i.e. about 14 minutes using about 21 tons of fuel to deliver OSIRIS-REx spacecraft at un unknown altitude and speed but say it was 400 kilometres and 8 000 m/s.

After that the second, empty stage also dropped down back on Earth and burnt up in the atmosphere or started orbiting Earth while the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft was catapulted away one way or other from Earth to orbit the Sun! It would appear that the Atlas V rocket and its booster the Centaur were unable to deliver the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft, so it could enter a strange hyperbolic trajectory around the Sun 150 000 000 kilometres away and break free of Earth gravity. As soon as the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft separated from the booster Centaur, it would also slow down ... and drop down on Earth 500 kilometres below and burn up in the atmosphere or ... just orbit Earth ... but not the Sun.

There is no way an Atlas V rocket + booster can place anything in orbit or hyperbolic trajectory around the Sun 150 000 000 kilometres away! Of course NASA and/or the United Launch Alliance staff will tell you something else ... if you can get hold of them.  

The cost of the mission is approximately US$800 million not including the Atlas V launch vehicle, which is about US$183.5 million. Imagine how much money is used to get some regolith off an asteroid.

On Feb. 6, 2017 Earth was about 100° behind Bennu both now orbiting the Sun. But 140 days later on Jun. 26, 2017 Earth was only 30° behind Bennu, i.e. the gap was 70° smaller. Recall that Earth turns around the Sun at about 1°/day, while Bennu is slower 0.835°/day. The difference is 0.165°/day. But 140 days times 0.165° day is only 23.1°.

The mission will therefore not help scientists investigate how planets formed and how life began, as well as not improve our understanding of asteroids that could impact Earth, as we are told! The whole thing is a hoax! Imagine that! Asteroids impacting Earth!

This is probably the whole purpose of the hoax. During the fake trip OSIRIS-REx will discover another asteroid that is going to impact Earth. Plenty astronut actors and physicist clowns have already told us about it for hours on 30 June!


Main Stream Media will create mass panic and fear but Donald the Circus president (72) will solve the problem, bla, bla, bla, assisted by NASA of course, and so on.

According some criminal scientists at Tucson, AZ, OSIRIS-REx will however determine Bennu's physical and chemical properties. This will be critical for future scientists to know, when developing an ESA impact mitigation mission. Imagine that - an impact mitigation mission. Finally, asteroids like Bennu contain natural resources such as water, organics, and precious metals. Future space exploration and economic development will rely on asteroids for these precious materials. Asteroids like Bennu may one day fuel the exploration of the Solar System by fake robotic and manned spacecraft.

It is the latest NASA hoax and/or racket to steal money from people! With the help of Luxembourg!

Cosmic objects like Bennu asteroids aren't just big rocks threatening the future of civilization in blockbuster sci-fi flicks (and, sometimes, in real life). They are chock full of water, precious metals like iron, nickel, and cobalt, ore, silicon, and a wide variety of other elements and substances, we are told. They are, in the eyes of some, solid chunks of potential profit hurtling through space.

Luxembourg, a small country in Europe located between Belgium, Germany and France, has, for the past few years, been exploring the potential for space mining. It is so funny!

Would you buy a Luxembourg space mining license from this man?

Etienne Schneider (left), born 29 January 1971, is a Luxembourg politician and economist of the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party (LSAP) and Luxembourg's minister of the economy. He has made it a priority to work in collaboration with Pete Worden of NASA's Ames Research Centre on this goal. 

When Etienne Schneider became Luxembourg's minister of the economy in 2012, one of his first trips abroad was to NASA's Ames Research Centre. It was very strange for the tiny state's money man to solicit meetings with cosmic researchers, but Luxembourg is always on the lookout for its next big investment (or money laundering) business. So when the centre's director, Pete Worden, began to talk about space mining - extracting water, ore, precious metals, alien time capsules, and whatever else from the likes of asteroids. Schneider listened. "I thought this was all science fiction," says Schneider. But Worden convinced him there was a whole cosmic economy to build, one that could extend from the Moon to Mars and into their own pockets!

 
That same year, the two persons founded a space prospecting company called Planetary Resources. And in January 2013, another, named Deep Space Industries - headquartered inside NASA's Ames campus - was born. Schneider saw the future. "The question was not if that all would happen, but when," he says. "And there I saw a huge opportunity for Luxembourg." That's why, on August 1, 2017, Luxembourg adopted a new law. The act, passed by the country's parliament gives companies rights to resources extracted from asteroids or other celestial bodies. It also sets up a system for the country to authorize and supervise such ventures in compliance with the Outer Space Treaty. Étienne Schneider says he is in discussions with fund owners who want to invest more than one billion (!) Euros into space ventures in the country. 

New Space Europe 16-17 November 2017 was the first space conference in Europe to focus solely on the new space industry and the economic opportunity of space. Hosted by The Ministry of the Economy of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Luxembourg City, New Space Europe centred around the theme "New Frontiers of Opportunity" highlighting the exponential growth of the space ecosystem, critical to creating a sustainable space economy across the world. There were plenty speakers telling how to fake it and you could meet iSpace - a Japanese private lunar exploration company with a vision to extend human presence into outer space and Planetary Resources Inc. - led by entrepreneurs in the commercial space industry and former NASA engineers.

There is no biz like the space biz ... since 1962. And now it is about asteroid space mining!

However, you first have to show that you can find an asteroid. OSIRIS-REx travelling to Bennu is the test case. And it is a 100% NASA hoax! All false! Actually a way to launder stolen money from tax payers. You just invent a space trip with fake footage.

NASA's Goddard Space Flight Centre provides overall mission management, systems engineering and the safety and mission assurance for OSIRIS-REx. Dante Lauretta of the Lunatics and Planetary Laboratory of University of Arizona, Tucson, is the principal investigator, and the University of Arizona also leads the science team and the mission's observation planning and processing. Lockheed Martin Space Systems in Denver built the spacecraft and is providing flight operations. Goddard and KinetX Aerospace are responsible for navigating the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft. OSIRIS-REx is the third mission in NASA's New Frontiers Program. NASA's Marshall Space Flight centre in Huntsville, Alabama, manages the agency's New Frontiers Program for its Science Mission Directorate in Washington. They do it in memory of Michael J. Drake, a false, Tucson planetary scientist and founder of the false laboratory. 

There are thus many (100's) funny individual scientists and companies apart from Luxembourg involved in the $800 million OSIRIS-REx hoax. Meet them; they are all just actors, prior to the launch telling MSM all about it. It is standard NASA praxis to line up the smiling expert scientists on a NASA stage with a colorful background. If you ask a question the actors cannot answer, they will hint you are too stupid to understand it:

Call them and tell me (or MSM) what jokes they say ... or lie. I have managed to contact one of them 11 January 2017 - Nancy N. Jones! She promised to explain the famous orbit diagram, where OSIRIS-REx orbits (?) the Sun at variable speeds first away and 60° ahead of Earth later to slow down, so that Earth can catch up for the September 2017 'kick'. I have reminded Nancy several times ... no replies. Nothing can turn around the Sun like that!

13 other scientists joined the team January 2018!

OSIRIS-REx was therefore not launched 8 September 2016, at 7:05 p.m. EDT by the United Launch Alliance (ULA). The Atlas V and its booster didn't launch the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft into a hyperbolic* variable speed (!) trajectory away (?) from Earth to begin a seven-year mission to return an asteroid sample 2023. As you know Earth has velocity ~29 900 m/s orbiting Sun. The speed at departure escaping Earth gravity must therefore have been >41 000 m/s (or more) relative the Sun similar to the Stardust hoax 1999-2006 just to get away into the hyperbolic variable speed orbit! If the speed were too low, Earth gravity would pull you back and you would crash. One way or not the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft got away and the direction was towards the Sun inside Earth's orbit.

The hyperbolic escape speed from Earth was only about 5.410 m/s (3.36 mi/s), so you wonder what happened. It doesn't matter!

What a hyperbolic escape speed is, nobody really knows! In physics, escape velocity is the minimum speed needed for an object to escape from the gravitational influence of a massive body like Earth or the Sun. The escape velocity from Earth is about 11.186 m/s. It means that after a few days the velocity of the spacecraft relative Earth will be 0 due to Earth gravity and then they orbit in parallel around the Sun ... or drop back on Earth. But in the figures below the velocity of the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft is >20 000 m/s!

In this OSIRIS-REx case the hyperbolic escape speed was maybe the extra speed required to escape from an already moving rocket ... at unknown speed. Ask NASA and ... you will not get any reply!

So it seems OSIRIS-REx would have dropped back and crashed on Earth after a while, if the whole thing was real. But NO, after one year and two weeks OSIRIS-REx was back close to Earth again ... after a >360° variable speed trajectory around the Sun. For a flyby slingshot!

*If something is hyperbolic, it tends to exaggerate things as being way bigger deals than they really are. Hyperbolic statements are tiny dogs with big barks: don't take them too seriously. A hyperbolic trajectory doesn't arrive anywhere; it is simply enlarged beyond truth or reasonableness.

The OSIRIS-REx spacecraft will therefore not reach its asteroid target in 2018 and return a regolith sample to Earth (!!) in 2023. It is just the latest NASA space joke! Not very funny actually so far. I wonder what twerps make it up.

One reason is that no spacecraft can fly around the Sun or anything in a hyperbolic trajectory at variable speeds to start with!

The OSIRIS-REx spacecraft however fired, we are told, its Trajectory Correction Manoeuvre (TCM) thrusters for the first time already Friday 7 October 2016 in order to slightly adjust its variable speed, hyperbolic trajectory on the outbound journey from Earth back to Earth around the Sun for the Gravity Assisted Kick almost a year later.

This funny manoeuvre changed the unknown velocity of the spacecraft by 0.5 m/s and used 0.5 kg of fuel. The OSIRIS-REx spacecraft was then about 14.5 million kilometers from Earth, we were told (see NASA figures below). The OSIRIS-REx spacecraft (dry mass 880 kg) had total start mass of 2.110 kg of which 1.230 kg was fuel. Afterwards the mass was 2 109.5 kg of which 1 229.5 kg was fuel.

At what speed ve must the 0.5 kg of fuel exhaust be ejected to adjust the speed 0.5 m/s? The answer is simple.

Konstantin E. Tsiolkovsky has established that the change in velocity, Delta-v, of a spacecraft in vacuum space (no influence of gravity of adjacent planet Earth or the Sun) is a function of the mass ratio (spacecraft mass before, m0 and after, m1 firing the rocket engine, difference m0 - m1 being the fuel mass ejected as exhaust gas and the exhaust velocity ve of gas leaving the spaceship rocket nozzle.

Delta-v = ve ln (m0/m1)

Example - here m0/m1 is 2 110/2 109.5 = 1.000237, so ln(m0/m1) = 0.000237 and ve = 2 110 m/s.

To change the (delta) speed 0.5 m/s you need 0.5 kg fuel (when fully loaded). The remaining fuel 1 229.5 kg of fuel can only be used to change the speed totally 1.845 m/s during the complete (fake) trip.

How OSIRIS Rex, having fuel for total change of speeds 1.845 m/s leaving Earth in one plane, can find, reach and stop at an asteroid making ~28 000 m/s orbital speed in another plane, orbit it, grab a regolith sample off the surface of it, and then fly away from it to fly back to Earth making ~29 800 m/s orbital speed and drop off the sample there is magic. The smiling experts above cannot explain it and you better do not ask NASA about it, even if I have done it - several times. NASA never replies!

My understanding is that no spacecraft of any kind can carry enough fuel for any trip anywhere and return to Earth. I provide more examples below.

The OSIRIS-REx spacecraft Wednesday 28 December 2016 then executed its first (fake) Deep Space Manoeuvre (DSM-1) putting it on a new, variable speed but still hyperbolic trajectory for the Earth Gravity Assisted Kick in September 2017.

DSM-1 represented the first major, post-launch milestone for OSIRIS-REx. The significant change in trajectory from DSM-1 was necessary to put OSIRIS-REx on course for an encounter with Earth on 27 September 2016. 354 kg of fuel was used for a Delta-v of 431 m/s. Direction unknown!

With m0 = 2 109.5 and m1 = 1 755.5 we have m0/m1 is 2 109.5/1 755.5 = 1.201652, so ln(m0/m1) = 0.1837 and ve = 2 346 m/s. Before it was 2 110 m/s so maybe the rocket engine is getting better?

I have asked Ms Nancy N. Jones and Mr. Erin Morton to confirm the DSM-1 original speed, final speed and speed change, fuel used, what direction it was applied, etc, to be reported here. By 16 October 2017 there was no answer. Anyway, with only 875.5 kg fuel left aboard total Delta-v available is 1 620 m/s or less. Between Jan. 16 and Mar.  6 the speed relative to Sun has been reduced by ~5 000 m/s but don't ask me why! On the other hand the speed away from the Sun is April 2017 >6 000 m/s!

Note the very strange OSIRIS-REx, variable speed/direction, irregular, hyperbolic, Jan 16, 2017 trajectory around the Sun. Two weeks later, Jan 30, 2017, the space craft was 0.91 AU away from the Sun and the speed relative to Sun was 33 km/sec, i.e. the space craft is distancing itself from the Sun and slowing down ... a lot (source)

I will ask them later to explain the details of the Gravity Assisted Kick and change of inclination in September 2017 and how to arrive at little Bennu November 2018 in its intrinsically dynamically unstable orbit. So far they do not provide any information.

16 January 2017, i.e. 4 months and 8 days after launch from Earth, the spacecraft had according NASA almost completed a 180° banana-shaped red, hyperbolic trajectory high speed, small distance, almost circular turn around the Sun and was only 0.85 AU from the Sun with speed reduced to 34 000 m/s (left)! You should really wonder what force turns the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft ... and reduces the speed.

Sun gravity? Yes, it pulls the spacecraft towards the Sun all the time until it crashes on the Sun. Earth gravity? Earth is far behind - 5.98 light minutes. Cannot influence the spacecraft.

I would therefore expect that the spacecraft would continue in the yellow trajectory or something similar to finally hit the Sun say in April 2017. However, it is suggested that OSIRIS-REx will continue the hyperbolic turn another 190° around the Sun in 9 months 1 week time, while distancing itself from the Sun to encounter Earth again from outside (!) at 1 AU from the Sun on 22 September 2017. To do so the spacecraft must slow down speed in or increase the distance of the circular turn, centre of which is not the Sun, and then speed up again. How is it possible? This is not rocket science! It is pseudo!

Earth is orbiting the Sun according Kepler in an almost circular ellipse, green in figure right provided by NASA & Co, at average 29.900 m/s speed (since billion years).


It takes a year. Distance from the Sun is constant ~1 AU. Bennu is also orbiting the Sun in another, bigger and less circular ellipse; blue in figure right, at average 28 000 m/s speed but in another plane and sometimes inside or outside the Earth orbit. Bennu is January 2017 far ahead of and outside Earth and OSIRIS-REx.

The probability that Bennu will ever collide with Earth is remote or zero as it has not happened since Bennu was born. They will never pass at the same time in a billion years, where their orbits in different planes intersect in space. 

However, between 9-20 February 2017, the spacecraft, when intersecting the Earth orbit (Earth is not there but far behind) activated its onboard camera suite and commence a search for elusive "Trojan" asteroids ... in the same plane. It is part of the show! Anyway, these asteroids are not dangerous.

The OSIRIS-REx spacecraft was February 2017 looking for Trojan asteroids at the L4 point 60° ahead of Earth in its orbit. Scientists suggest that the Trojans are difficult to detect from Earth as 'they appear near the Sun on the Earth's horizon'. I thought they should be ahead of the Earth and 60° away from the Sun.

So 20 February, 2017, OSIRIS Rex was 60° forward of Earth (right) in space relative Sun. OSIRIS Rex is apparently having a speed of 30 km/s relative Sun compared with Earth's 29.8 km/s, i.e. they do about same speed ... relative Sun, even if it is suggested that speed of OSIRIS Rex is 20 km/s (?) relative Earth. This is a typical NASA display. Nothing makes any sense!

On Feb 6, 2017, OSIRIS-REx, had turned about 210° around the Sun (1.4°/day !) in its strange, banana shaped, variable speed trajectory and were looking for Troyan asteroids 60° in front of Earth (relative Sun). Earth has evidently only turned about150° (1°/day) in its constant speed orbit (source) since launch. Note that Bennu is about 40° ahead (!) of OSIRIS-REx in another plane above or below

You cannot eject an object from Earth to start hyperbolically orbiting (?) the Sun at variable speeds/directions in a circular or elliptic trajectory! The OSIRIS-REx will therefore not Friday 22 September 2017 make a flyby (!) of Earth, which we are told. There will be no collision! Earth's gravitational field can only pull the OSIRIS-REx towards Earth (increase the speed, change the direction), where it then cannot "borrow" a small amount of Earth's orbital energy, according NASA fantasies. Imagine that! This additional orbital energy is used to increase OSIRIS-REx's orbital (? - trajectoral!) inclination and sling it into a second, inclined, impossible, variable speed trajectory of irregular shape around the Sun for a rendezvous with Bennu in its orbit November 2018. No fuel will be used!

Flybys or Gravity Assisted Kicks are always part of any space joke!

So OSIRIS-REx was not launched by ULA (the Lockheed Martin and Boeing companies faking it jointly) into an impossible, variable speeds/directions, irregular, circular (?) but hyperbolic, trajectory (red in figure right) around the Sun first banana-shaped inside the Earth orbit at high speed, later outside the Earth orbit at slow speed, but always in the same plane, because it is not possible. January 2017 OSIRIS-REx was not far ahead of Earth. It probably never left Earth!

Can really a NASA spacecraft encounter a fast moving heavenly body in space (?) November 2018, grab a little sample of it (??) and then return to Earth 2023 and deposit the sample at a desert in Utah??? Of course not.

On Feb 20, 2017, OSIRIS-REx continues around the Sun in its strange, banana shaped, variable speed trajectory and was looking for Troyan asteroids 60° in front of Earth (relative Sun). The distance from the Sun has increased 0.06 AU in two weeks! The only thing that is constant is the speed relative to Earth - 20 km/s (?) since Jan. 16. Now OSIRIS-REx must start preparing for the Earth Gravity assist Friday Sept. 22 ... (source)

The OSIRIS-REx will thus September 2017 not be kicked or slung into a second, variable speed, irregular trajectory around the Sun to encounter little Bennu in its intrinsically dynamically unstable orbit somewhere in space November 2018.

It seems you must first travel around the Sun once - in an irregular but circular hyperbolic trajectory at variable speeds/directions (!) - to get kicked to travel a second time around the Sun in another inclined, variable speeds/directions, irregular but circular trajectory and then - magic - you will (not) encounter in space the moving target Bennu in its intrinsically dynamically unstable orbit, where you brake to same speed as Bennu, grab a sample ... and then speed off again back to Earth. It is rocket science described in A. just below. Reason why you cannot fly direct from Earth to Bennu without circling the Sun twice is that it is not possible.

While waiting for OSIRIS-REx to return to Earth Sept 22 you can enjoy the NASA spacecraft DAWN that departed Earth Sept. 27, 2007, at great speed to arrive at planet Mars (average orbital speed 24 km/s) Feb. 17, 2009, and then to arrive at dwarf planet Vesta (average orbital speed 19.34 km/s) 11 Jul. 2011 - stupid pictures taken - and dwarf planet Ceres (average orbital speed 17.905 km/s) spring 2015 - more stupid pictures taken. DAWN doesn't use any fuel at all to fly around taking false pictures in space! Everything is 100% false!

On May 22, 2017, OSIRIS-REx was 1.22 AU away from the Sun. Earth is only 5.08 light minutes (91.290.848 km!) behind (source). Earth does a regular ~30 km/s in its orbit, so it must travel another ~319 000 000 km until Sep. 22, when it will meet the OSIRIS-REx again. The latter cruises today at only 24 km/s, down from 34 km/s Jan 16 in its hyperbolic, variable speed trajectory. Sep 22 they will meet at 1 AU away from the Sun according NASA!! The Earth is catching up from behind for a Gravity Assist! The OSIRIS-REx variable speed relative Earth will then be something! It is magic!

On May 29, 2017, OSIRIS-REx was 1.23 AU away from the Sun, but Earth is only 4.77 light minutes behind.

Earth does of course a regular ~30 km/s speed in its orbit and is catching up from behind for a magic Gravity Assist of the OSIRIS-REx Sep. 22.

OSIRIS-REx is doing ~24 km/s since May 1 in its hyperbolic, variable speed trajectory that is now constant speed. It is magic!

On June 5, 2017, OSIRIS-REx was still 1.23 AU away from the Sun, and Earth, which has turned ~270° (1°/day) since launch, is only 4.45 light minutes behind (source)

So 16 January (see above) the OSIRIS-REx was 0.85AU from the Sun inside the Earth orbit, but on 5 Jun., 140 days later (see left), it was 1.23AU away from the Sun outside the Earth orbit in its mysterious, hyperbolic trajectory.

An Astronomical Unit, AU, is the mean distance between the Earth and the Sun. In 2012, the International Astronomical Union defined the AU distance to be 149.597,870,700 meters. 0.38 AU is thus 56.847.190.566 meters.

So every day the last 140 days the OSIRIS-REx is 406.051.363 meter further away from the Sun. It corresponds to a radial (sic) speed of 4.700 m/s away from the Sun! Imagine that.

Earth radial speed is always 0 (orbit is circular). It seems the OSIRIS-REx has decided to fly away into our Solar system leaving the Sun behind.

Planet Mars (see below left) is between 1.666 and 1.381 AU away from the Sun in its eccentric orbit... so OSIRIS REx is almost halfway to the orbit of Mars June 2017 and must now return back to the Earth orbit.

So how can OSIRIS-REx and Earth meet at 1 AU from the Sun 22 September? Easy! The whole thing is a joke! Isis will not like it.

It will then rendezvous/be lined up with Bennu Nov. 2018. How can variable speed OSIRIS-REx and constant speed Bennu meet Nov. 2018? That is a question NASA refuses to answer!

On Jul. 3, 2017, OSIRIS-REx was 1.22 AU away from the Sun, with Earth 3.14 light minutes away (source). Only 80 days remain until the long awaited, fake (!) Earth Gravity Assist will take place. Earth has another ~207 000 000 km to orbit until then. On Sept. 22 OSIRIS-REx will however approach Earth from behind (!) at high speed and be kicked into a new orbit, so that OSIRIS-REx encounters asteroid Bennu Nov. 2018 after a 362° turn around the Sun

On Jul. 10, 2017, OSIRIS-REx (speed 24 km/s) was 1.21 AU away from the Sun, with Earth (speed 29.9 km/s) 2.82 light minutes away (source). On Sept. 22 OSIRIS-REx will be 1 AU away from the Sun and 0 light minutes behind planet Earth ... for the famous gravity assist

On Jul. 24, 2017, OSIRIS-REx was 1.19 AU away from the Sun, with Earth only 2.19 light minutes away (source). The speed of light is 299.792.458 m/s, so 2.19 light minutes is about 41.671.151.662 m - the distance/gap separating OSIRIS-REx from Earth. In 60 days the fake Earth Gravity Assist shall take place at a very small, unknown altitude. It seems the gap is closing at about 8 km/s

NASA’s asteroid sample return mission, OSIRIS-REx (Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, and Security – Regolith Explorer), passed about 17 237 kilometers above the South Pole of Earth and away from the new (20 Sept) Moon just before 12:52 p.m. EDT on Friday, Sept. 22. OSIRIS-REx was doing about same speed as Earth - about 29.9 km/s - but at different directions (see fig left) coming in from outside. Plenty photos (all fakery) were taken of the spacecraft approaching Earth. The speed change was ~3.8 km/s (and not 2 km/s as shown left)!

Using Earth as a slingshot, the spacecraft received a magic gravity assist to complete its journey to the asteroid Bennu, according to NASA.

“The Earth Gravity Assist is a clever way to move the spacecraft onto Bennu’s orbital plane using Earth’s own gravity instead of expending fuel,” says Dante Lauretta, OSIRIS-REx principal investigator at the University of Arizona, Tucson. His e-mail is lauretta@lpl.arizona.edu . Ask him to explain how a Gravity Assists takes place! He will not answer!

On Oct. 9, 2017, OSIRIS-REx was 0.95 AU away from the Sun, with Earth 0.49 light minutes away (source) on the outside. Speed remains at 32 km/s. Bennu is far ahead ... in another plane ... making average only 28 km/s in its elliptical orbit. The gap between Earth and OSIRIS-REx still widens by 6 km/s. After the 22 Sept. flyby OSIRIS-REx took a false photo of the Earth and the Moon:

At the time this image was taken, the spacecraft was retreating from Earth after performing an Earth Gravity Assist manoeuvre on Sept. 22. Earth and the Moon are shown 249,000 miles (401,200 kilometers) apart, and the spacecraft is 804,000 miles (1,297,000 kilometers) from Earth and 735,000 miles (1,185,000 kilometers) from the Moon. 

As a result of the flyby, the velocity change to the spacecraft (relative the Sun) was 8 451 miles per hour (3 778 meters per second).

"The encounter with Earth is fundamental to our rendezvous with Bennu," said Rich Burns, OSIRIS-REx project manager at NASA's Goddard Space Flight centre in Greenbelt, Maryland. "The total velocity change from Earth's gravity far exceeds the total fuel load of the OSIRIS-REx propulsion system, so we are really leveraging our Earth flyby to make a massive change to the OSIRIS-REx trajectory, specifically changing the tilt of the orbit to match Bennu."

However, it wasn't shown in the pictures above ... and is normal, nominal, NASA nonsense.

 As of Oct. 23, the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft is travelling at approximately 25,000 kph (7 km/sec) relative to Earth. The spacecraft is approximately 17 million km from Earth and 57.7 million km from Bennu. But because Bennu is orbiting around the Sun and isn't stationary, the spacecraft must still travel 948 million km before it can catch up to the asteroid.

On Oct. 16, the spacecraft's communications downlink rate decreased to 10 kbps. Because of the low data rates and other mission planning activities, no science observations are planned through Jan. 7, 2018. Source

So OSIRIS-REx was only 17 million km inside from Earth and 57.7 million km behind Bennu far ahead on Oct. 23 2017, in our solar system ... all three orbiting the Sun in different trajectories, speeds and directions.

Imagine what earth gravity assist fantasies (1) principal investigator Dante Lauretta, OSIRIS-REx Science Processing and Operations centre at the University of Arizona, (2) NASA’s Goddard Space Flight centre in Greenbelt, MD providing overall mission management, systems engineering and safety and mission assurance for OSIRIS-REx, and (3) Lockheed Martin Space Systems in Denver, CO who built the spacecraft, can invent 2018.

OSIRIS-REx is the third, fake mission in NASA’s New Frontiers Program. NASA’s Marshall Space Flight centre in Huntsville, AL manages New Frontiers for the agency’s Science Mission Directorate. All false of course! Let's recall this one!

On Sept. 8 2016 OSIRIS-REx was catapulted away from Earth in a strange red/yellow/red trajectory around the Sun by a nonsense rocket that couldn't send it to the Moon.

A year later Sept. 22, 2017 OSIRIS-REx, in its impossible red/yellow/red trajectory around the Sun, encountered Earth again for a fake Gravity Assist to enter an even stranger, new blue/red/blue trajectory on Oct. 30, 2017 to catch up asteroid Bennu far away! On Jan. 15, 2018, OSIRIS-REx was 0.96 AU away from the Sun, with Earth 3.45 light minutes behind (source). Orbital speed is 32 km/s. Bennu is far ahead ... in another plane ... making average only 28 km/s in its elliptical orbit. The gap between Earth and OSIRIS-REx is increasing by 9 km/s and the difference in speed between OSIRIS-REx and Bennu is 7 km/s. This stupid, space, propaganda show will continue until June 2018, when there will be a DSM-2. The arrival at Bennu is delayed to 3 December 2018 with approach operations starting in August.

On May. 21, 2018, OSIRIS-REx was 1.29 AU away from the Sun, with Earth 2.54 light minutes ahead (source). Orbital speed is reduced to 24 km/s. Bennu is very close ahead ... but in another plane/orbit ... making average only 26 km/s in its elliptical orbit. The gap between Earth and OSIRIS-REx is reduced at 7 km/s and the difference in speed between OSIRIS-REx and Bennu is only 1.790 m/s. This stupid, space, propaganda show continues until June 2018, when there will be a DSM-2 ... unless it is cancelled. The arrival operations start August 17, when Bennu is 2 000 000 km ahead.

On June 25, 2018, OSIRIS-REx was 1.31 AU away from the Sun, with Earth 3.68 light minutes ahead (source). Orbital speed is reduced to 23 km/s. Bennu is very close ahead ... but in another plane/orbit. The difference in speed between OSIRIS-REx and Bennu is only 1.170 m/s. We are ready for DSM-2!


In spaceflight, an orbital maneuver (otherwise known as a burn) is the use of a propulsion system; e.g. a rocket to change the orbit. For a spacecraft far from Earth like OSIRIS-REx such an orbital maneuver is called a Deep-Space Maneuver (DSM). The second OSIRIS-REx Deep Space Maneuver 2 is scheduled for June 28, 2018. It is 100% science fiction. Nobody can explain the purpose of it, of course.

As OSIRIS-REx approaches the asteroid, it will use an array of small rocket thrusters to match the velocity of Bennu in its orbit around the Sun.

ASTEROID APPROACH MANEUVER #1 starts 45 days later on Oct 1 with a main engine deterministic burn to slow the spacecraft from about 500 to 144 m/s speed relative Bennu and begin final approach, we are told.

ASTEROID APPROACH MANEUVER #2 is Oct 15 with a main engine deterministic burn to slow the spacecraft from 144 to 0.53 m/s speed relative Bennu and to continue the approach.

Only twerps believe in this nonsense going from one orbit to another orbit around the Sun via a sling shot above the South Pole of planet Earth September 21, 2017.

Bennu and OSIRIS-REx shall then meet 3 December 2018 and OSIRIS-REx will then, after surveys, bla, bla, bla, land on Bennu and grab a regolith sample!

And after that OSIRIS-REx will take off from Bennu and return to Earth 2023, after a couple of more orbits around the Sun, to drop off the samples on Earth.

During the encounter, OSIRIS-REx will be formation flying at same speed of course with Bennu, while it surveys and maps the asteroid's surface. The survey begins in October 2018 and will last for over a year. Media will no doubt be informed. It has four major phases:

1. During Preliminary Survey, OSIRIS-REx searches for asteroid plumes and natural satellites, and also measures the Yarkovsky acceleration of Bennu. It is very important.

2 In Orbital A the Flight Dynamics Team transitions from star-based navigation to landmark-based navigation that uses images of Bennu's surface. Do you follow?

3. In Detailed Survey several instruments work together to map Bennu and determine its global spectral, thermal, and geological properties. Actually the Sun heats up Bennu to 150C where it is exposed, while it is -150C in the shade. It is same on the Moon.

4. During Orbital B, OSIRIS-REx continues to map Bennu at higher resolutions, with a focus on candidate sample sites. At the end of Orbital B, a sample site will be selected.

Media will no doubt be fed with pictures and information as the survey progresses. All Fake News, of course! I wonder who will produce the pictures? JPL? Hollywood?

After the sample site is selected, OSIRIS-REx will move into position to collect a sample of Bennu's surface material. The spacecraft's sampling arm will finally touch the surface for five seconds as part of the Touch-And-Go sampling manoeuvre.

That will be the big event of the mission and headline FAKE NEWS all over the world. Curious media should try to attend to watch all the actors screaming and shouting and later celebrating with champagne, etc. It is so stupid. Imagine what a fairy tale they have invented!

OSIRIS-REx has plenty tools and instruments - all fake of course - to carry out the exploration of Bennu, which will take several years and last until March 3 2021:

A. The Touch-And-Go Sample Acquisition Mechanism, TAGSAM, is an elegantly simple sampler head with an articulated arm. It is designed to collect a sample from the surface of Bennu.

B. The Thermal Emission Spectrometer will produce mineral and thermal emission spectral maps, and local spectral information of candidate sample sites. I call thermal emission temperature and it will be 150C in the sun and -150C in the shade.

C. The Visible and Infrared Spectrometer will produce mineral and organic spectral maps and gather local spectral information of candidate sample sites in near-infrared. Imagine that! It sounds impressive.

D. The PolyCam, an 8-inch telescope, is the first to "see" the asteroid from 2 million km away. Once the spacecraft is closer, it will image Bennu at high resolution.

E. MapCam searches for satellites and outgassing plumes. It maps the asteroid in 4 different colors, informs our model of asteroid shape, and provides high resolution imaging of the sample-site.

F. SamCam will continuously document the sample acquisition event and TAG manoeuvre. The footage will be forwarded to media worldwide! It is part of every Fake News report.

G. StowCam is part of the guidance, navigation, and control system on OSIRIS-REx. It will be used to verify proper storage of the asteroid sample within the spacecraft's Sample Return Capsule.

H. The Regolith X-ray Imaging Spectrometer is a student experiment that will determine which elements are present, and how abundant they are, on the surface of Bennu.

I. The Camera Suite will perform long-range acquisition and global optical mapping, and candidate sample site imaging and documentation.

J. The Sample Return Capsule is designed to hold and return the sample of Bennu's regolith to Earth. It has a heritage design that is based on the SRC used by fake Stardust to successfully return tail material from Comet Wild 2 in 2006.

K. Laser Altimeter will provide ranging data, global topographic mapping, and local topographic mapping of candidate sample sites.

L. The guidance, navigation, and control system will provide information about the spacecraft range to Bennu's surface during the TAG Rehersal and TAG Manoeuvre, to ensure that the spacecraft maintains a safe distance from Bennu.

M. The NavCams, or Navigation Cameras, are part of the guidance, navigation, and control system on OSIRIS-REx. They are used for optical navigation of the spacecraft.

N. The High Gain Antenna provides communication between the spacecraft and ground systems.

After the sample site is selected, OSIRIS-REx moves into position to collect a sample of Bennu's surface material. Media will no doubt be informed.

The Touch-And-Go Sample Acquisition Mechanism, TAGSAM, is, as already said, an elegantly simple sampler head with an articulated arm. It is designed to collect a sample from the surface of Bennu.

Contacting the surface of Bennu for a total of five seconds, the TAGSAM will release a burst of nitrogen gas, causing loose rocks and surface material to be stirred up and directed into a collector in the sampler head.

As already said it will be the biggest event of the complete mission and produce headline FAKE NEWS all over the world.

OSIRIS-REx will obtain at least 60 grams (2.1 ounces) and up to 2 kilograms (4.4 pounds) of sample. If needed, the spacecraft is capable of making up to three sampling attempts.

After measuring the mass of the sample, the TAGSAM head will then be stowed in the Sample Return Capsule, SRC, for the journey home.

Return Cruise may start March 3 2021. It will take several years and orbits around the Sun. If the spacecraft has enough fuel for all manoeuvres is better forgotten.

Arrival back to Earth is scheduled for September 24 2023. 

Four hours before reaching Earth's atmosphere, OSIRIS-REx will jettison the SRC placing it on a trajectory to Earth. The spacecraft will then perform a deflection manoeuvre of 17.5 m/s (39 mph) that places the spacecraft on a stable orbit around the Sun, where it will orbit forever.

The SRC will re-enter the atmosphere slowed down by friction and protected by a heat shield

After re-entry the SRC will free fall until it reaches an altitude of 33.5 km (20.8 mi), when the drogue parachute deploys. At 3 km (1.9 mi) the main parachute is released, bringing the capsule in for a fake soft landing in the Utah desert on September 24, 2023, concluding a seven year journey to Bennu and back. Of course you cannot drop off an SRC at the top of the atmosphere - 120 000 m altitude - at high speed and expect it to drop down in Utah. It is just a repeat, magic, fake hoax.

On Earth, the fake sample material will be analyzed down to the atomic level to determine the asteroid's chemical composition. Sample scientists will look for organic compounds like amino acids and sugars, the building blocks for life, we are told. Imagine what NASA can invent! 

If you consider the OSIRIS-REx mission to asteroid Bennu ridiculous, you should have a good laugh at two other NASA hoaxes - Lucy and Psyche: 

Lucy, a robotic spacecraft, is scheduled to launch in October 2021. It's slated to arrive at its first destination, a main belt asteroid, in 2025. From 2027 to 2033, Lucy will explore six Jupiter Trojan asteroids. These asteroids are trapped by Jupiter's gravity in two swarms that share the planet's orbit, one leading and one trailing Jupiter in its 12-year circuit around the sun. The Trojans are thought to be relics of a much earlier era in the history of the solar system, and may have formed far beyond Jupiter's current orbit. ...

Lucy will visit a target-rich environment of Jupiter’s mysterious Trojan asteroids, while Psyche will study a unique metal asteroid that’s never been visited before,” said Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate in Washington. “This is what Discovery Program missions are all about – boldly going to places we’ve never been to enable groundbreaking science.” ...

"This is a unique opportunity," said Harold F. Levison, principal investigator of the Lucy mission from the Southwest Research Institute in Boulder, Colorado. … Lucy also will build on the success of the OSIRIS-REx mission to asteroid Bennu, with the OTES instrument and several members of the OSIRIS-REx team. ...

The Psyche mission will explore one of the most intriguing targets in the main asteroid belt - a giant metal asteroid, known as 16 Psyche, about three times farther away from the sun than is the Earth. This asteroid measures about 130 miles (210 kilometers) in diameter and, unlike most other asteroids that are rocky or icy bodies, is thought to be comprised mostly of metallic iron and nickel, similar to Earth's core. Scientists wonder whether Psyche could be an exposed core of an early planet that could have been as large as Mars, but which lost its rocky outer layers due to a number of violent collisions billions of years ago.

The mission will help scientists understand how planets and other bodies separated into their layers - including cores, mantles and crusts - early in their histories.

“These are true missions of discovery that integrate into NASA’s larger strategy of investigating how the solar system formed and evolved,” said NASA’s Planetary Science Director Jim Green. “We’ve explored terrestrial planets, gas giants, and a range of other bodies orbiting the sun. Lucy will observe primitive remnants from farther out in the solar system, while Psyche will directly observe the interior of a planetary body. These additional pieces of the puzzle will help us understand how the sun and its family of planets formed, changed over time, and became places where life could develop and be sustained – and what the future may hold.”

Hayabusa2 looks like OSIRIS-REx

Of course, a Japanese (!) rocket H-IIA F26 with the 600 kg Asteroid Explorer "Hayabusa2" onboard was launched already at 1:22:04 p.m. on Dec 3, 2014 (JST) from the Tanegashima Space centre to beat OSIRIS-REx. How it got away from Earth and entered the first trajectory of Hayabusa2 first outside, later inside the Earth orbit around the Sun (see below) - thus the opposite of OSIRIS-REx - are mysteries.

The asteroid explorer Hayabusa2, exactly a year later came close to Earth again on Dec 3, 2015 from the inside, and conducted a fake Earth Gravity Assist swing-by and was kicked outside towards Ryugu. The asteroid explorer Hayabusa2 flew closest to the Earth at around 7:07 p.m. on that day (Japan Standard Time) and took a false picture of the Earth without a Moon! It then entered a new trajectory around the Sun.

The target asteroid of Hayabusa2 is (162173) Ryugu, also orbiting the Sun. Hayabusa2 arrived at this asteroid in June 2018, i.e. beat OSIRIS-REx that will not arrive at Bennu until November 2018.

There is no biz like the fake space biz! All is false! Hayabusa2 thus arrived at the Ryugu asteroid June 2018, staying around there for one and half years according JAXA before leaving the asteroid at the end of 2019 and returning to Earth around the end of 2020, i.e. three years before OSIRIS-REx! JAXA did not really up-date its web site since summer 2016 until March 2018, when it finally detected Ryugu.

Ryugu has an aphelion of 1.4158 AU, a perihelion of 0.96328 AU (thus inside the Earth orbit - not shown in picture above) and an orbital period of 1.30 year or 473.88 days so the conceptual diagram above is misleading. It then took about 2.5 years and two turns around the Sun for Hayabusa2 to reach Ryugu 27 June 2018. And after a year at Ryugu, Hayabusa2 will return to Earth 2020! To do what? Land? Nobody knows!

Bennu has an aphelion of 1.3559 AU, a perihelion of 0.89689 AU (thus inside the Earth orbit as shown on the many diagrams further above) and an orbital period of 1.20 year or 436.65 days. It will take only about 1.1 year and one turn around the Sun for OSIRIS-REx to reach Bennu November 2018.

All is 100% fakery. And MSM is silent about it. How can anyone consider above space trips serious?
